CAN I MIX OLD AND NEW BATTERIES IN MY FAN?   …OR BATTERIES OF DIFFERENT TYPES?

NO, you should never mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types.  A caution warning is displayed in all of our instruction manuals.  For best performance, always use fresh alkaline batteries.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I INSTALL MY BATTERIES INCORRECTLY?

There is a risk of leakage from the batteries if they are installed incorrectly. Please follow the instructions.

MY DAUGHTER PUT THE PERSONAL FAN IN HER HAIR WHEN IT WAS RUNNING.  IS THERE AN EASY WAY TO UNTANGLE HER HAIR?

Yes.  Simply remove the fan blade from the motor shaft by pulling the hub straight off.  Do not pull on the blades as they may tear.  This will allow you to quickly untangle her hair.  The fan blade can be reattached when done by pushing the hub back on to the motor shaft.

MY FAN IS NOT WORKING, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If fan does not operate, verify batteries or supplied adapter are installed correctly and that nothing is obstructing the fan blade.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I STORE MY FAN?

When storing your fan for more than two weeks, you should remove the batteries.  For water misting fans, also remove all water.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY FAN?

Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not allow water to drip into the fan motor housing.

CAN MY AC ADAPTER BE USED WITH A PLUG CONVERTER WHEN TRAVELLING OVERSEAS?

Yes, most of O2COOL’s AC adapters are capable to operate in a voltage range of 100V to 240V.

MY ADAPTER GETS WARM WHEN IN USE.  IS THIS NORMAL?

Yes, it is normal for an AC adapter to dissipate heat when in use.

WILL MY FAN CAUSE STATIC OR INTERFERENCE WITH MY TV?

Yes, it is possible that your fan (motor) could cause some interference.  If this happens, simply move the fan away from the TV.

WHY IS MY FAN IS RUNNING BACKWARDS WHEN USED WITH AC ADAPTER?

You are probably not using an O2COOL supplied adapter and the polarity of the adapter you are using is not correct.  Please discontinue use and order a proper adapter from O2COOL.

CAN YOU LEAVE THE BATTERIES INSIDE THE FAN WHILE USING THE ADAPTER? WILL THE FAN USE ONLY THE ADAPTER AND NOT THE BATTERIES?

Yes. The fan will bypass the batteries and only use the adapter.

DOES YOUR COMPANY PROVIDE REPLACMENTS MOTORS FOR THE FANS?

No. O2COOL’s fans are not user serviceable.

CAN I PURCHASE A BATTERY COVER OR AN EXTERNAL FAN BLADE FOR MY FAN?

Yes, we keep some battery covers and external fan blades in stock for our fans as a convenience to our customers.  Please give us a call at 312.951.6700 with the the model # of your fan,  and we will see if we have any battery covers or external fan blades in stock.

WHAT IS THE BATTERY LIFE FOR YOUR FANS?

  • 10” Fans – Up to 40 hours on low, up to 25 hours on high
  • 10” Rechargeable – Up to 40 hours battery life plus approximately 5 hours on rechargeable
  • 8” Fans – Up to 60 hours on low, up to 45 hours on high
  • 5” Fans – Up to 100 hours on low, up to 60 hours on high
  • Actual battery life depends on the age and quality of batteries used.
